I have always been very enthusiastic about learning and always find myself helping others to discover a deeper understanding of a subject. During my time tutoring math, I discovered that there is a necessary balance to allow the student time to process the material without allowing them to get frustrated and giving up. I don't believe in an unteachable student. One of the greatest pleasures I have in teaching is having a breakthrough with a student that has had difficulty. I believe every student has the possibility to meet and exceed expectations with the right teacher! I believe that not every student is the same. The solution and teaching style that works well with one student may not work at all for another. Additionally, not every student learns things at the same rate. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been tutoring my entire college career. All of my students received the grade that they were wanting and quite a few students even recommended me to their peers. I began tutoring one student a semester privately and was eventually recruited to tutor for a University program. While tutoring for the program I tutored 7 students one on one and ran a help room where I assisted many more. I have a BS in Aerospace Engineering so I am quite familiar with most math and science subjects. I also graduated from high school with an International Baccalaureate diploma so I am more than capable of tutoring any high school level material.

I believe that if a student wants to learn a subject and is willing to put forth the effort, that student has the tools to succeed. Quite often they just need help in "how" to learn. There are a lot of subjects that are intimidating to students. I like to demystify and simplify the subject so that the student has a greater chance for success.
I currently am a substitute teacher for all grades from 1st grade to high school. I started this avocation after spending 27 years in the Finance and Accounting areas. I have an MBA from the University of Kansas. One of the gifts God has given me is the ability to help others reach their potential. When teaching, I am quite often able to explain difficult subjects to students in a way that is easier for them to understand.
