My comments on tutoring Psychology : I did take a psychology course in my senior year of High School. We went over the basic Freudian principles as well as others.

Throughout high school, I had trouble trying to figure out what I wanted to do when I graduated. I took many classes that ranged from Weight Training to Biology. I took many Art classes in which I excelled at. I then took some Computer Technology classes and I loved it. So I figured I would put the two together and took Graphic Design classes. I loved it. I am very competent in using all sorts of Graphic Design programs. I got my first guitar around 8 years ago and just picked it up and learned it. I have been learning ever since. I personally, have taught many people the basics of guitar and gave them the tools to excel in music.

A Little Bit About Me...

Over the course of the last 10 years both in the workplace and earning a 4 year degree I have learned many important skills in the areas of math. reading, and writing. I have had to used these skills in research papers, class projects, creating reports for VP of companies, creating profit margins and so on.

I prefer sitting at the student's elbow, with the assigned work in between us, focusing on it together. I talk about "it" rather than "you" to avoid making the student self-conscious. Writing can always be improved, and each student has areas of strength and weakness. I try to pick one area that needs the most attention, and focus on it. When there is significant improvement, I move on to the next area of weakness. Pointing out all of a student's mistakes and weaknesses at once drains morale, and that is counterproductive. Working on one area at a time keeps the student from being overwhelmed. I like to have the student read out loud to me, so that we can both see what needs improvement. I've never met a "stupid" student. I see all people as capable, as long as they are willing. I find it easy to get a student interested in a subject when they have usually been bored in class.
