I was an teacher assistant for a chemistry lab for an organic lab for one semester at the University of South Carolina. I made sure students understood concepts and graded reports. I tutored general chemistry for 2 years at the Student Success Center at the University of South Carolina. I learned how to effectively foster independent learning within my peers. I'm also a certified tutor involving 10 hours of training and over 25 hours logged time with students. I have a B.S in Chemistry from the University of South Carolina and did research for three years there. I've got experience with the material that I tutor from teaching and from hands on research. A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with children and students of all ages. I was a volunteer at Shriners Childrens Hospital for many years in the recreational therapy department. I was a "class teacher" at a friend's daycare part time, and I held a summer job as a lifeguard and swim instructor for many years. I find that when teaching something new or difficult, it is best to find a way it relates to each individual. Once you discover this, you can make it fun and relavent for them.
As a graduate of a Health Science program at a competitive public university, Clemson University, I showed an understanding of many science disciplines. I attended the college of The Virgin Islands (presently University of the USVI) and graduated with a Bsc in Biology in 1986. While in college I became captivated with computers and programming. Since I already had a keen interest in electronics, I pursue job opportunities that were computer related after I graduated. As a result all my jobs were of a technical nature. My love for the Sciences has never diminished and I have kept up with Math and Science subjects to stay in tune. As a matter of fact I pass my GACE Biology I and II exams in 2007 even though I was fixing ATM for a living. If ask to, I am sure I can teach Algebra and trigonometry.
