My teaching style is very patient, kind, and laid back. I believe that everyone has the potential to learn and finish the work they are given, so I very rarely tell someone how to finish a problem or correct a sentence. Instead, I give suggestions of things to think about and ask a lot of questions so that the student can get to the answer themselves. I will gladly point them in the right direction but hesitate to ever point to the answer as I feel the lesson is very easily lost. I left Russia in 1993 when I was a Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics of the Moscow Inst. of Chemical Engng Industry, Russia. After that I worked as a researcher in Germany, Austria, Italy, and USA (from 1998). Now my son is a student of Vassar Liberal Collage. I regularly taught all scholar math (advanced level) to him.
