From my experience, I have realized that students learn faster and retain the information they learned longer if a tactile, hands-on approach is used. In high school, I was on our school's speech team, I competed at the varsity level all throughout high school. I placed at every competetion, without fail. I placed in advanced English classes in high school, and tested in to the second level of English classes at Western Illinois University my freshman year. In terms of online tutoring. I make use of a headset microphone and a touch tablet. As well as many free online applications, such as a whiteboard, Skype, and educational resources. During session I prefer to use the course work and text assigned to the student. Doing so allows for the structure of our sessions to easily mesh with those of the course. While obtaining my B.S.
