Every person has the ability to learn! I have found the key is to establish a rapport with each student, and then find the method that works best for them. Some students learn better by hearing the concept. It is helpful for them to first have a conversation about what the subject matter is, and how it is used, and then proceed to the actual lessons. Other students excel when they see the concept first, and learn best through visual aids. In all my years of teaching, I came to the realization that every child is different . When it comes to teaching, I like to learn a little about the child first. Then once I know everything I need to know, I go by what interests the child and I use that to teach them . Although sometimes it is not as simple, I do what ever it is that I have to do to ensure that the child is learning .
