What a better way to teach your teen than by a teen?

I graduated high school in late October of 2012. I am not currently in college. I am working twords bettering my future. I enjoy helping others and I find it easy. I used to be tutored and I hated it because the tutors seemed to not care if I got it. I make sure the person or people I am tutoring understand and remember how to do what I am asked to teach them. In high school my teachers used to send me to other classes and tutor kids in the middle of class. I am extremely flexable and can help just about anyone I try to teach. I will not say every because no one is perfect and I'm not going to pretend I am.

I always tried to keep my approach as grounded as possible so that even my least talented tutees could grasp the task at hand. For instance, I feel it important to always sound out the words on a page, making sure the words flow smoothly off the tongue and not just in the mind. I do this so that the writing style, while formal, is also practical and easily accessed by the student as they write. I also feel it best to not focus too strongly on a student's weaknesses, but to feel out their strengths so that they may use those strengths to really work out their difficulties. I am a 25 year coporate professional in Accounting and Banking. My Bachelors' degree is in Managament and I have a minor in Accounting. I was responsible to train all the new Accounting hires at IBM. Additionally, I trained 2 Accounting supplementals. Each year now for 5 years in the summer months, I take battlefield walks with the National Park Rangers at Gettysburg. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from high school as number eleven in rank out of 248. I often assisted other students in both high school and college. Later, as a homeschooling mother of four, I taught all of my children all subjects through the eighth grade level. I just returned from the island of Saipan, where I taught high school English in a private school, and seventh grade English in a public school. I presently am a certified substitute teacher in the Cumberland County, PA, public school system, where I teach almost all grade levels and subjects.
