While working on my BS in Psychology I worked part time as a respite provider for children with brain, emotional, or behavioral disorders. Though I focused more on teaching social skills, I learned first hand that each child has a different way of learning and that not just one style is effective, especially for any special needs child. I love teaching to students who wish to learn. When the student's drive is there, we find ways to overcome difficult concepts. I engage all of the most common learning styles, encouraging students to understand the material so well that they can explain the concepts and apply them in word problems.
