My comments on tutoring Elementary Reading : I am the reading specialist at a local private school. I am skilled in multiple strategies to help students read include phonics, decoding (sounding out words), and comprehension.

This depends on the student. I can teach verbally for students who are auditory learners, visually for student who are visual learners, and kinesthetically for students who are kinesthetic learners. I know that every student can learn, it just depends on finding the specific learning style for that student.
I have been working as a teacher for three years now. I enjoy working in a private school setting (two years experience) because I can devote more time to lesson planning, after school, and creating individualized/small group curriculum as there are less students in the private school I teach at. My comments on tutoring Elementary Reading : Reading is fundamental, once your student see how much fun reading can be to explore so many places they will love reading. As Dr. Seuss says Oh The Places We Can Go! when reading just imagine.

I have various experience with students from 3 years old to 17 in most areas of teaching, my strongest is in Reading. I also have experience in tutoring with various tutoring companies from kindergarten to fifth grade. ALL STUDENTS WELCOME!

Whenever I can, I like to be very hands-on in my teaching my students. For example, once I was teaching my class about trees. I had them go outside and collect samples of bark which had fallen on the ground. Then we created a gigantic mural in my classroom and glued the pieces of bark to a tree we had drawn.
I have been a self-employed Tutor since April, 2006. Special needs and home schooled students are welcomed. Nothing makes me happier than when I see the smiles on the faces of my students when they succeed rather than fail. I assist all students in skill building and creating a life-long love of learning.
