A Little Bit About Me...

Hello. I majored in Biology in college with a minor in Chemistry. I graduated with honors and was a tutor throughout my college career in Biology, Genetics, Anatomy, Physiology, Histology, and Microbiology. I went on to receive a Masters in Biomedical Science from UMDNJ where I also worked in the Radiation Research Laboratory exploring the Bystander effect of cells exposed to radiation therapy. I went on to explore veterinary medicine working in the Emergency Room of a 24 hour veterinary specialty hospital.
I believe that breaking down complex processes is key to understanding any aspect of Science. Pathways and processes become easier to grasp when broken down to smaller components. I would define my teaching style as hands on. If I can find a real life example of the material at hand, I will use it. I love to work on whiteboards/ chalkboards with students. This way they are out of their seat and showing me what they know. I am very willing to bend to any style of learning. Playing games, creating flashcards, repetitive drilling of information. Some students also learn better when they have oral stimulation such as chewing or sucking on candy. As long as the students learn the information and can remember it, then I am happy and confident.
