Teaching is a challenging task, and rewarding all the same. Each person has individual knowledge and experiences, and reference points to which they can relate. It helps to clear the path by determining what the student knows, and then build on what they already know about the subject matter. Sometimes there is a missing piece of the puzzle that, once it's placed correctly can make a world of difference. The ability to really know the subject matter is an empowering experience that can build self-confidence and encourage a healthy curiosity.
