I would give lots of detailed examples. I would start by stating the fact and the theorem , then give many examples to explain how this example applies to the theorem or fact.My approach is hands-on. I was at the ITT Nashville and Draughons College campuses for 9+ years and School Chair of the CAD/MM department at ITT for 3 of those years.
