I have been a private tutor for the past two years. In that time I helped a student who had dropped out of high school learn all of the necessary skills required to excel at the new GED test. He achieved honors on the Math and Science portions and scored very well on the Reasoning through the Language Arts and Social Studies sections. In October I helped him study for his ACT. He scored a 23 on the ACT and with his GED-High School Equivalent GPA of 4.0 he was accepted to New Mexico State University and plans to obtain a Masters in International Relations.
I adapt my style to whatever suits the student the best. I have tutored friend's children over the course of several years. I have taught religious studies for over 15 years to youth ages 14. I have worked extensively with children in my various lines of work in the mental health field and foster care. I love teaching and working with children and appreciate that no two children are the same nor do they learn the same way. I'm a strong believer that it's important to teach a child in a manner he/she is comfortable with, whether they pick up a concept quickly or need time.
