My approach to teaching can be best described as adaptive. My varied experience has enabled me to develop different methods for different situations. There is no "typical student," and it is my belief that a good tutor or teacher adapts his or her methods to an individual's learning style—not the other way around. However, there are some constants in the teacher-student relationship. As a college student I am still striving for my goal and dream of becoming a veterinarian. I have always been a mentor in my community and willing to help others where they need help. My favorite subjects throughout grade school include math and science, in which I have excelled in both by being placed in honor level classes throughout high school. I have tutored many students in math, science and elementary level reading.
My teaching style with younger children is to have a relaxed setting where no pressure in placed upon the student. I'm always sure to review my material before going into a new lecture. When a student is not understanding the material I try to use many methods for then to gain a better understanding.
