My comments on tutoring Writing Skills : helped students from elementary through college with sentence structure, verb and subject agreement, grammar and spelling as well as research paper styles

Over the years I have developed study skills to help students with special needs as well as help individuals with special needs on the job site. I interview a potential student to find out the best way he or she learns. I would then adapt my teaching style to their learning method.I have worked with visually impaired students who needed me to transcribe their classroom tapes into braille or who needed me to write lecture notes for them. I worked with students who were taking English as a Second Language writing up grammar lessons,participating in Bridge classes, developing study hours for conversational practices at home and using pictures to get across ideas. IN NEED OF A JOB

I like to have a fun open minded discussion. I don't like boring so I will do my best to spice it up.
I have obtained my GED and have always had straight As in high school. I'm also familiar with construction and building skills. I am a visual learner and will do my best to make the teaching fun. I have also obtained 13 college credits from Kalamazoo valley central college. The 13 credits that I have obtained are in computer skills. The computer skills that I have obtained are those for knowing and understanding how to use Microsoft word and all other programs associated with it.

One of the reasons that I'm interested in tutoring is that, although I love working with individual students and small groups, I am less interested in classroom management, discipline and the rest of the duties that come along with substitute teaching. I am excellent at relating to students and absolutely can help those who are willing to learn. I also appreciate that different students learn in different ways and strongly believe that alternative methods should be explored and encouraged if it gets a student learning. I find helping students to be extremely gratifying and am passionate about it.
