I have been working in medicine for 16 years i have been a doctor for 4 of those years. A professor for three and a nurse for 10 years prior to becoming a doctor. Genetics is one of my top subjects! My main topic of biological research is molecular genetics. I also have taken several courses in genetics. This coursework was rigorous and provided me with the knowledge needed to help others understand it.

Throughout my college career, I have developed study techniques which allow me to excel on exams. In the past, I have tutored high school students in preparation for the AP Biology exam in a formal setting. These students were all successful. At the end of the course, all the students felt the tutoring was helpful.

I began teaching as a graduate teaching assistant for medical, dental and pharmacy students. In industry, I was an instructor to newly hired sales representatives and I taught microbiology at a local university. I also taught classes on bloodborne pathogens while working in industry, and after moving to NC I did substitute teaching for the local school system and I taught biology at a local community college for a summer semester. Since 2006 I have been a part-time microbiology lecturer/laboratory instructor for a highly-regarded local health sciences college and I have also taught courses at other local colleges.

My teaching style has been to make learning fun and easy to remember. When I have taught I've been very interactive with the students and have gotten many compliments from students and patients as well, on my ability to communicate on almost any level.
