I believe all students have the ability to succeed. In my experience, the most important thing to remember is that all students learn differently, and sometimes what seems like an impossible task just needs to be presented differently for better understanding. Relating the material to situations and applications that are relevant and familiar to that particular student is a much more productive and beneficial way to have students retain information. I try very diligently to make each learning experience count and have students enjoy the learning process.

My primary goal is to help the student understand the material so that it makes sense. My tutoring style involves asking lots of questions. The answers to these questions enable me to determine where the student's difficulties lie and how to address them. I don't believe that telling someone a fact or algorithm or the answer to a problem has much lasting value, so I attempt to lead the student to her or his own understanding by a series of carefully structured questions. This way the student actually learns the material and can be confident in solving whatever problems are presented, so their school work goes better. I came from Guangzhou,China and relocated in USA now.In the past ten years, I earned a Ph D,a MS and a BS in engineering which has enabled me be very good at math, chemistry,Physics, biochemistry and some other science fields. I have only worked with students at the 8th grade level through adult, but have been able to engage students at every level of ability. I seek to understand each student's strengths and weaknesses, as well as his or her most beneficial learning styles, and to use those styles to develop the weak areas while capitalizing on the strengths. I am very patient and have a strong ability to explain different approaches to understanding concepts. A Little Bit About Me...

No two children are the same, and we know that this is correct, so therefore it applies to their learning ability as well. Some children need visual simulation to really ingrain the principle that is trying to be understood. While other's learn by complete repetition. My teaching style is all relative to the child and the subject area being covered.
