(Grades K-6) I also spent 2 months teaching full time 3rd and 4th grade after college prior to unfortunately being laid off due to financial losses in the school. I have helped people in math classes ranging from simple math to statistics and even college level math. I love math and English and I also love working with people of all ages and teaching them to love math as well. I feel that teachers make things more complicated than they need to be and I am great at simplifying explanations for people.
I use a white board when teach people because I find people get less stressed out when working with a problem if there is less scribbles on the paper. I also have a strong belief that it only takes one good example to understand the problem so I give the people I tutor one really good generic example of the topic and tell them to copy it down and refer to that example often and I find that it helps a lot.

A Little Bit About Me...

Recently I was asked to give a Guest Lecture on Neuroanatomy at Everest College. I wanted to take students on a ride through the nervous system, into subcortical structures, down the spinal cord to synapse onto muscles and organs. I had to cover everything I learned in the past year, in four hours. I was able to compile a set of animations, which played in tandem with my lecture. Rather than simply name structures, I discussed symptoms that would manifest given a lesion to that area, resulting in effortless comprehension by the students. My tutoring experience isn't really too official. I mostly just help people with College Algebra around the dorms. I am pretty good with teaching and helping with math, and could probably do it at a High School level. Not actually having a BS probably will just limit me to high school tutoring.
