I believe that a good quiet environment with one on one help can open the door for every student to be successful. Failure is never an option for any child provided that he or she has the right access in the learning environment. I will start with the student whereever they are academically and get them to where they need to be. Reassuring and encouraging the students as we both achieve our goals.

Learning can be made so much easier when taught in a format that is fun. This makes it enjoyable and more likely to be remembered. In a tutoring one-on-one kind of setting, times tables could be taught with a deck of cards and using the two numbers thrown out as the problem. Reading and writing can be done by taking pictures and creating a story from the pictures you have taken. It costs the price of a throw away camera and the students love it. I bleieve learning must be fun.
I am a very patient, soft spoken person who understands what it is like to struggle. I also had difficulty learning in school and wish someone would have taken the time to notice I wasn't being 'lazy' but really had a hard time comprehending and remembering what I r ... read more
