Learning is serious, but that doesn't mean it has to be grim

I encourage higher order thinking, and help students learn to become self-directed and independent. Not only will your child develop greater skills and knowledge in each discipline, he/she will develop many specific thinking strategies and skills which they will apply in the classroom and throughout life. My mottos is, "Learning is serious, but that doesn't mean it has to be grim." I believe in making learning exciting, and especially in helping children learn to believe in themselves as successful learners. I have high expectations, and I provide the support they need in order to meet those expectations. My comments on tutoring Elementary Vocabulary : As an educator in the public school system for over 3 years at the preschool to 6th grade level and as a tutor for the same grades I have gained the experience and knowledge to tutor students in vocabulary in creative ways that will allow them to retain the knowledge they learn so they can master the subject and carry it with them for a life time to further their education in all of the subjects as they advance through school and life with confidence.

Creative teaching for a life time love of learning. I gather everything at my disposal to work with my students and teach to their particular style of learning. I have used basketball to teach social studies. Vegetables to teach science. Peanuts cereal and even M & M's to teach math. A lecture is not always the best method of teaching, but that is what they get in the classroom. A tutor has more flexibility.

Live, Laugh, Love

I do private one on one tutoring where the child will have a greater opportunity to learnt he material
I work at the Boys and Girls Club where I am the poetry teacher. I haver also been tutoring for 5 years and I am great with kids. I tutor in many subjects but my strongest subject is English and Literature. I also tutor any grade level. I enjoy helping kids learn and understand their material better. I also enjoy having them feel a sense of acomplishment.
