Special Education is one of my top subjects! I have over 11 years of experience of working with people with autism, down syndrome, and other disabilities, including behavioral disabilities

While in university I studied art history, studio art, and international relations. I was a teaching assistant for many art history classes, including renaissance, modern, and post modern art. I also was a teaching assistant for several studio art classes including drawing, photography, and silk screen. I also sturdied international relations in university, with an emphasis on the Middle East and Europe, particularly Cold War and terrorism. I have almost 11 years of experience with children and adolescents who have disabilities, including autism, down syndrome, aspergers, and behavioral challenges. I ran a summer camp for teenagers with autism and currently work in a school with children who have behavioral disabilities.

A Little Bit About Me...

I teach by completely explaining the idea, challenging the student, and addressing weaknesses or gaps in understanding. I feel that I can simplify complex concepts and explain them clearly, whether the question is thermodynamics, macroeconomics, or multiplication. Anyone can understand a difficult topic or answer challenging problem with the proper coaching, practice, and persistence. I am patient and understanding but resilient and dedicated. The challenges of tutoring a child with autism have reinforced these qualities and helped me learn to come up with alternate approaches and be patient at apparent roadblocks.
