Graduated Summa Cum Laude, while working full time job for a large corporation, in addition to leading an active life with my family. I've worked in finance my entire career and obtaining my BS in Business Management enabled me to secure better positions with my present employer. I was also presented with better job opportunities as my career progressed. I also taught evening classes in Accounting for 2 semesters at a local community college. I have tutored junior high students, participating in Partners in Education at the local level.

As seen from above, I have valid tutoring experience in both middle grades and HS. I was in the student teaching program at Wake Forest and upon graduation, I was a substitute teacher in the Winston-Salem, Forsyth County School system. I also participated in the Junior Achievement program in the Piedmont NC region for over 5 years. I am currently a tutor with the "No Child Left Behind Program."
I am a disciplinarian. I have an excellent ability to gain a students attention, keep it and the results of my students have been well above average. I have a knack to bring into the classroom, outside events (latest ball games, Olympics, etc.) to establish a 'bond' between myself and the student. This allows me to gain their confidence as well as not create a bored atmosphere. I find this very important, especially with the more difficult students.

The program was geared toward helping elementary, middle, and high school students test at or above grade level proficiency in mathematics and computer literacy. I am hands-on and usually try to relate the material to the students in fun/meaning ways. I feel that education is key to a successful working career. If students need help with a subject, then I am more than willing to help - either through students seeking me out or analyzing their work for areas that need additional attention.
I have served moderate and low income students through AmeriCorps. My duties included running the after-school program in addition to helping student with their homework. I have also managed a multi-state campaign, and served as Vice President of an organization representing nearly 10,000 graduate/professional students.
