I have my associates in Early Childhood Education through Liberty University! I have been a nanny for 4+ years with lots of experience helping children with homework, guiding them through their education, etc. I was also a teachers aide for about 2 years during my high school years. I am currently a graduate student in petroleum engineering. As an undergrad I worked as a mentor for a freshman in my major, helping him cope with school and advising him of the courses he needs to take. I also provide tutoring when needed. In high school I was part of a program called PEPP where high school students provided tutoring to middle school students. I was also involved in a program developed by my school's Honor Society where we tutor our peers in math and science courses. Additionally, I was a summer camp counselor for three summers and I was responsible for coordinating various activities for the children each week.
I believe in an interactive learning environment where I am constantly asking students for their inputs and working through problems with them. This way, they become confident in their abilities to solve difficult problems and provoke critical thinking.

More About This Tutor...

As I am still a student myself, I bring a slightly unique perspective to tutoring. I know and appreciate the importance of a compelling instructor, who is both enthusiastic and intelligent, but also patient and understanding. I love the sciences, but I have not been working in the field for so long as to not remember the frustration most students feel when first grasping the founding principles. I strongly believe that learning is best facilitated through problem solving rather than rote memorization, especially within the sciences. Asking questions is far more important than answering them, and engendering a genuine interest in learning is paramount above all else.
