While achieving my Associates in Physics at South Texas College, I worked as a tutor in the Rio Grande Valley Area of South Texas. Just memorizing facts, although in some cases that is necessary, it is just not fun for all students and just may not stick unless learned in a fun way. I prefer one-on-one conversation in a question-and-answer format (Socratic method). However, sometimes a straightforward explanation is needed. For math tutoring, the best results come from working through problems step-by-step. I have been teaching at the college level for 6 years, and I have 2 years of earlier experience at the middle school level as well.
