Government is one of my top subjects!

I recently graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor's of Science in Secondary Education. I student taught at Central High School in Grand Forks, North Dakota from January to May of 2018 and I have years of experience working with upper aged students from my work with the Boy Scouts of America and the Minneapolis Parks and Recreation Board.
I prefer to use current real world content as a way to demonstrate historical ideas in an easier context to understand. I believe that students benefit more from this type of instruction because it can put difficult concepts in a way that is easier to relate to.

I worked with students from a variety of backgrounds (ESL, freshman comp, MS candidates, etc). At Metro State I participated in a semester program teaching English in Puerto Rico, for which I received the ESL certification. I also TA'd for Writing and Designing for the Web.

After achieving my certificate of proficiency in Spanish from Hamline I then began to also privately tutor Spanish. I graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I am enrolled in a doctoral program currently to earn my Ed.D in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies.
