I obtained a B.S. in Biology, with a concentration in aquatic science, from Wittenberg University in 2006. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored elementary students in math and science twice a week for two years. After college, I moved into the marine science profession. In August of 2008, I started teaching High School Biology I, Earth and Space Science, and Physical Science to students in Polk County. From my own experiences as a student I have come to the opinion that the most valuable educational accomplishment one can achieve is to “learn how to learn”. This seems to be a state of mind, an epiphany if you will, which hopefully will be realized at some point in the course of an individual’s intellectual development.
