I recently received my Bachelors Degree from the University of Michigan, where I studied English and Spanish. I chose a rigorous course schedule which allowed me to greatly develop my writing, editing, proofreading, and critical thinking skills. During my sophomore year of college, I began to facilitate creative writing workshops with youth and adults. This included editing and correcting for grammar as well as content, and providing useful feedback to my students. I continued with this work throughout college, and even after graduating. For the past 30 years, I have worked with special needs students. I believe that students learn at their educational level. The problem with education today, is that students are often in classrooms that stress learning at their frustration level. Many students are in general ed settings, but are forced to use materials that they do not fully understand. I have always been at the top of my classes and was heading for an engineering school before I discovered a love for helping kids. I am a creative teacher. I love to design my own lessons to engage students and compliment their learning styles.
