I love seeing people understand something once I explain it to them in a way that they can understand it. I am currently enrolled in the graduate engineering program at the University of Florida, in which I plan to graduate in the spring of 2012. I am a recent graduate from the University of Florida from the College of Education with a BA in Elementary Education. I entered the ProTeach program during my junior year at UF. I have been exposed to a lot of teaching strategies and ideas that have been used in the classroom from the past until the present. I had the opportunity to use these practices in actual classrooms by developing lesson plans to teach elementary students. I have the experience of being the teacher in the classroom and working with students one-on-one with reading and math. I’m currently completing my Master’s degree at the University of Florida in Elementary Education. I’m doing a full-time internship this semester in a 2nd grade classroom in Alachua County. Through high school and college, I have always excelled in academics. I received a 3 or better on multiple AP classes through high school: AP Spanish, AP Biology, AP Statistics and AP Calculus AB. I was given college credits for those classes, but also completed many other classes at the University of Florida, including: Writing about Literature, Astronomy, Physical Geography, Math for LS Majors, Educational Psychology, Classroom Reading, American Literature, and Introduction to Philosophy.
