I am a student at Auburn University studying English Education. I am a rising senior and have over 3 years of education courses under my belt. I have a 4.0 grade point average, and studied for one semester at Oxford University in England. I love English, writing, and teaching, and I love helping students understand my favorite subjects!

A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught English at a private school in Ansan, South Korea for 1 year from March 2009 to February 2010. I taught children from ages 5-14. This was a full time job. I take close consideration of each child’s ability in the language and cater to his or her individual needs. I use all methods of second language acquisition in my teaching. Most of the exercises I use to help beginning are communicative methods. It's better to get them speaking and writing and build their confidence than to just use rote memorization or drills. If I think the audio-lingual method will help a more advanced student, I suggest and practice this method with them. If reading in the language with the translation side by side helps, we will practice that. I bear all forms of cognitive learning in mind when tutoring a student.
