I am a first year freshman at Tennessee Tech I am majoring in Electrical Engineering. I graduated high school with a 3.97 GPA and college credits. I really enjoy math and I am very good at it. Pre-Algebra is one of my top subjects! "Excellent tutor!" - Annetta, Lexington, KY on 12/29/12 My 11 year old son had brought home a poor grade in pre-algrbra. I was beside myself. I knew he was intelligent but obviously was missing connections that could be made with one-on-one help. I've always helped my son with his homework but I'm not a teacher, and especially not math one! I decided to hire a tutor and found Devin. Thank goodness I did. My son went to an A within 3 tutoring sessions!!! As an adult returning to college myself I understand there isn't a price that can be put on a solid educational foundation, especially math since it only builds on what you previously have learned. My comments on tutoring Pre-Algebra : I have taught prealgebra for 2 years.

I have been teaching math since 8/2000. I first began teaching in a large urban district and then switched to teaching in a private school. I have taught math at both the high school and middle school levels. The subjects I have taught include algebra I and II, geometry, AP Calculus AB,and middle school math. I have tutored math every year that I taught, and also tutored GED math for 1 year.
I think that I am very clear and concise in my explanations of concepts. I am also very good at explaining concepts in multiple ways. So if a student doesn't get how to do a problem using one method, I can go over another approach. I'm a good listener.
