I'm a 2nd year Electrical and Computer Engineering Student at Michigan Technological University. I've taken everything from Calculus 2 and Differential Equations on down with only Calc 3 left to go for math. For High School I went to Holland High School and graduated with a 4.05 GPA (weighted based on AP classes). I've been involved in FIRST Robotics, Dutch Football and a few other activities.
Whatever material you would like me to cover please let me know in advance so that I can review the section. In math and science I try to provide a practical explanation for why the material is important and interesting as well as teach any tips and tricks that I've learned.

At our first session, I ask that each student complete a short quiz to determine their learning style (visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc). Every child learns differently and I believe that discovering what works best for each student is the first step towards success. Once we figure out what his/her learning style is, I cater to this. If they learn best by reading, I'll prepare worksheets based on what they're learning; if they're hands-on learners, I'll make an activity.

A Little Bit About Me...

I traveled for a year with a family and home-schooled their 3 children. The children were in 1st grade, kindergarten, and pre-school and were seriously below grade level in math and reading. In that year, I brought those children beyond grade level in reading skills and comprehension as well as math skills. I have also been a teacher's assistant in 3rd and 4th grade classrooms and have gone through student teaching in the 3rd and 6th grade in order to complete my degree. I've always had a passion to teach. Life took me down a few different paths but I've managed to find my way back to teaching.
