College educated years of experience with "At Risk" students

I believe that every student I have ever worked with has been more than capable of understanding and excelling at whatever material we are working on. The problem I often see is either a lack of focus or loss of determination/ confidence due to not agreeing or benefiting from their teachers teaching style. Hands on, and more of an application study. I believe that the only way to actually understand something is being able to apply it to real world situations.
My experience is all in college. I had 9 Labs in college in all my science courses. I excelled very well in my science courses and i keep learning. Did great in my research project class. Played college baseball so i am great with athletes that do not want to study. I can break down big concepts into smaller concepts that is understandable for all students in the academia process.
