I was the type of person back in school who could never focus on anything in school,and one year I had to go to summer school.There I met a teacher who changed learning for me completely.I learned thing that i struggled to learn for years in just a couple months.It was amazing.From then on i remembered his teached ways and swore I would become a teacher or even a tutor and teach the same way he did,to help others learn and feel accomplished like I did.

I love to teach and see the ideas light up the eyes of the person who suddenly got a concept. I think teaching should be adaptable and should fit the learning style of the student. Visual tasks, memory games, and hands-on-learning are, in my opinion, the best way to help someone truly learn (versus rote memory). I try to tailor my style to the student. Each student I had tutored when I was in college I had basically spoke with them, got to learn what they strong points were, their weaknesses, and areas that needed more base learning. I tailored lesson plans to help fill in their educational gaps, created small weekly assignments, and also helped with their current homework/lesson plan. I believe everyone learns in different ways. Some are more visual, others are more auditory so I tried to not only explain but also show by using whatever tools necessary/applicable (graphs, pictures, charts, etc.)
