Interaction prevents or indicates "going too fast" or overwhelming them--"the eyes" are engaged or indicate "shut-down". Making the math or education "mean something" provides a reason for learning or further developing the concepts. Encouragement and sincere compliments are very important. I love helping and teaching children. I have given riding lessons to all ages of children for years, realizing there is no better feeling than helping children accomplish their goals. I would love to help children in any way I can to meet their academic goals, I know what it is like to have to study hard for what you want to accomplish. In graduate school, I developed a management style, Egalitarian Leadership. The faculty encouraged me to submit my paper to Harvard Business School. Currently, I am writing a middle school age novel. Prior to this, I wrote a newspaper column for two years in California. I also score state proficiency tests for Pearson Educational Measurement, K-12.
It is my experience that an instructor delivers more learning when a student has an interest in the subject. "Inspire rather than require," has far greater efficacy in delivering information.
