A Little Bit About Me...

I generally give an assessment to find out about individual student needs. When working with younger students, I usually plan a series of activities, and learning games to help reinforce learning. I feel that it is important to develop goals, and would work with classroom teachers, if possible, to find out more about each student. I am able to tutor math, reading, writing, and other subjects. I enjoy helping students, taking time to develop a good working relationship, in which students feel comfortable. yet challenged.
I worked as a teacher's assistant for several years in public schools in Illinois, assisting in K-5 classrooms. A Little Bit About Me...

One of the greatest joys of teaching is seeing each one of my students grow as an individual and academically.I have always wanted to be a teacher since I can remember. I wanted to give back to my students what was given to me. "A chance to to learn and grow". For me, it seemed only natural to obtain a career in the area of my first love "TEACHING". I teach because it's who I am and what I do. When I see my students getting excited about learning;I feel that same excitement as though it was me as a young child again. A Little Bit About Me...

I have my BS in Elementary Education with minors in Science and Social Studies. I completed my student teaching requirements in inner city Milwaukee. I then was hired right out of college to teach 5th grade in Arizona which I did for two years. I then transferred to third grade and began my masters program in reading. I have an anticipated graduation in May of 2010. I hvae tutored students all three years in various subjects.
I do enjoy working with students and seeing them strive to excellence. I am patient and will work with students to help scaffold them to higher learning. I believe that there are several different ways to teach students and knowing which way will help benefit your child. I will use thier prior knowledge to help them understand concepts that prove difficult to them.
