Elementary Vocabulary Tutors & Teachers for Lessons, Instruction or Help in Kurten, TX

Whenever possible, I use highlighters, colored pencils, hands-on manipulatives, and other items to help students learn. I have been teaching elementary students since 1995 in 1st and 4th grades. I have taught all subject areas, especially language arts and math. I want to encourage students to think for themselves and to work through their learning in a way that makes sense to them. In general, I've always loved Science and Social Studies, so those are my strong points. I love talking about History and learning new things every day. Science can be exciting, but also tricky. I'd love to help teach, and even learn more, alongside someone who needs the information. Knowledge is power, especially when it helps you get a good grade ;) About myself-- I love music, watching funny videos on YouTube, and drinking Starbucks. I graduated High School as Valedictorian in 2012, and right now I am in my third year as a Health Science Major at Sam Houston State University. Extremely laid back, personable. I'm not a know it all, and I might even have to call myself out on that a few times. We will always get to the right answers, there just might be a few jokes along the way.

I am currently entering my senior year at the Woodlands High School seeking any opportunity to earn money to go towards college. Throughout all of my years of high school, I have taken multiple advanced placement and honors courses every year. Previous employments at companies like Shankz Blacklight Mini Golf, and Yucatan Taco Stand have honed my people skills, making it much easier to conduct myself in a public, and especially teaching environment.

I am currently working at Kumon Learning center and I enjoy it very much! Unfortunately it doesn't pay enough so Id like to have a job on the side. I help early learners begin their reading, writing, and math skills. I am also a senior in highschool so Im well educated with core classes. Tutoring is something I look forward to doing because I love seeing children make progress with their homework and classes!

I work as a writer and a tutor. For fifteen years I was the corporate vice president of a large international telecommunications company. My education includes a bachelor's degree in bioscience and a master's degree in business ethics. I have been tutoring for ten years working with elementary, high school and college students, adults and senior citizens.
