My comments on tutoring Composition : I have been teaching writing for 30 years at LaGuardia Community College, in NYC. I have helped many students from around the world to become fine writers of the English language. I am patient and understanding.

In my experience, the majority of students are highly motivated. This is, for me, the key to success. I spent several years in Omaha teaching creative writing at the High School and College level, giving classes at Creighton University, the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and Metro Tech. The program was called Writing Floes. The basic idea is that our ideas are frozen in the oceans of our unconscious minds. Music melts the ice. The goal is to get both hemispheres of the brain in the room at the same time.
