A Little Bit About Me...

I am a very patient person, and patience is always a necessity when you are teaching a child and helping him/her to understand anything. I am the oldest of four children and I have always had to help them with homework growing up so I know ways to keep their attention on their studies. I have learned that children have to visualize, and see what is happening in order to get a complete understanding. Also, it has to be in a form where it is fun to learn by using charts and different types of ways to display information.
Throughout my matriculation at Tougaloo College, we have always been taught to be critical thinkers and to be professional. I graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi where I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Deaf Education. I loved working with the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, but it was extremely hard finding a job doing that in my area. Due to that fact, I started tutoring as many kids from the local schools as much as possible and I loved doing it. That also motivated me to work on adding endorsements to my teaching license so that I can teach regular education as well. I’ve added Special Education (k-12) and Social Studies (7-12) and I am working on adding English and Math as well. I am excited about given the opportunity to work in the school system.
