The teaching style that brings the best success I've found is centered on two points. First of all, it is based on listening, which means getting the student to talk. Eventually, with guidance, I aim to get them the ability to talk through and solve any problem. The second major technique I like to use is analogies. Even complicated subjects can be simplified into their core components which are easy to understand if taught as an analogy to something more familiar in daily life. I'm a very laid back casual sort of fellow that likes to make someone think about how to solve problems efficiently. I won't just blurt out an answer to a question hoping they pick up, hands on working through a problem is the best way I've found to solve computer problems. Teaching the student "where" to look to find answers is big help too, there is reference material out on the web for ANY business related task you can think of.
