My comments on tutoring Algebra I : Math was my favorite subject in Middle and High School and if I hadn't majored in Foreign languages, I would've gotten my degree in Secondary Math Education. I enjoy working with unknowns and I love math because I find security in knowing that there is always a right answer.

I am a "kid-at-heart" who has a passion for helping other learn and succeed. I enjoy foreign languages and I want to share my enthusiasm with others. By traveling often, I remain enthusiastic about the subjects I study. Over the past 4 years especially, I have spent many weeks in Germany and France and have fallen in love with the people and their culture. I enjoy finding short stories and comics that help others better understand and learn the language. I also have many supplies from abroad, such as books and DVDs. My comments on tutoring Algebra I : I am certified in math 5-9 and have worked with programs like Illustrative Math.

I have a classroom in my apartment actually because I used to teach students in China until the Ministry of education changed. As a result, I have close to four years experience in online teaching with a hardwire Internet connection and lights. I also have a few classroom props that I enjoy using. Students find that I am patient and I have a sense of humor. Having rapport with a student is one of the most important skills, if not the most important skill that a tutor could use.
As a 20 year teacher, I have worked with students from a variety of backgrounds and situations. I enjoy finding ways to help learners accomplish things that they thought were just impossible a few weeks earlier. While, I have worked with all students from K 12 . My primary area has been middle school. With that mentioned, I do online tutoring for students of all ages.

Algebra I is one of my top subjects! I consistently made mostly "A" averages in Algebra I, and scored well in this subject throughout K-12, as well as college.

Give Algebra l a KISS, get all the basics in the book upfront, and do sample problems in each section of the book. You will then understand all the daily mumbo-jumbo of Algebra l, and just need to do more of the assigned practice problems. But you will already know how to do the problems, and why.
