A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated from Mansfield University with a BS degree in Elementary Education with honors. I taught a temporary position in third grade (all subject areas), then was asked by the school superintendent to substitute teach in Junior and Senior High School, and Special Education classes, which I did for four more years before I had to move out-of-state for my ex-husband's job. I just spent the last 15 years working for the NYS Dept. of Corrections in many areas. I gained much experience in all aspects of office work, including computers, writing, people skills, reports, counseling, math,etc. I am currently retiring, and would like a part-time position for added income while I attend college part-time. i have never taught professionaly, but have assisted fellow students. the methods i useed to help them were ither to incorporate the subject matter into a sumject that they had a personal interest in, or manny time i found that they just didnot understand the language of the subject so i reexplained it in simpler terms and they got it just fine.
Even as a student i helped my fellow students to understand and grasp the subjects they were having difficulty with. i can generaly spinn the information into a subject matter that interests the individual or just explain it in an easier to understand manner, offted they just get lolst in the language of teaching. i minnored in math, and majorred in science and agriculture in high school, ansd took veternary technology in colledge this involved mostly biologies and lab technigues.

I very much enjoy working with children. I enjoy that as i teach them they are teaching me as well. Each individual child learns in their own different way not like that of any other. In my experience with special needs my most knowledge came from just watching their reaction to the curriculum. Each subject had different reactions the facial expression and their attention span to each subject. These very tools gave me the fuel to fire their education.
As I graduated from Corning Community College in Early Childhood Education, I instantly started work as a teacher's aide in the school district of Watkins Glen as well as Odessa.
