I am a 60-year old man who has taught every subject at every grade level as an artist in the schools for over 35 years. I currently substitute in all the grades in Hart County so I have had to demonstrate knowledge of every subject at every grade level. I have been in the classrooms of public schools every day for about 60% of my adult life. I hold a Bachelor's Degree from Oberlin College with a major in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Math. I have tutored a lot over the years, and whereas I am comfortable handling any subject, my particular strong point is Math. I like to ask questions and get the student involved. I like to get the student engaged as much as possible. I would like to observe the method in which the student obtains the most information and expound on that variable, triggering many senses for better memorization. My teaching style would consist of trying to get the student to understand what they are studying which is considerably better than just simple short term memorization.
I earned a well rounded education from Western Kentucky University with a strong emphasis in math / Engineering. Since College I have pursued the Surveying field. I have recently obtained the status of Professional Land Surveyor with the State of Kentucky. I have taught young graduates surveying practices in relation to the Engineering field while in management positions. I would be very excited about teaching children.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have always believed that each child is truly unique. I However do not believe that all education and forms of it, should be uniform. Working with children with special needs has allowed me to be able to get to know the student and adjust the curriculum so that the child will be able to benefit the most from!
As a communication disorders major I have acquired an understand and love for working with children. During my internship I was able to work one-on-one with children who have language disabilities. It was through this internship that I learned what a reward it can be to help others, and to see them flourish intellectually.
