A Little Bit About Me...

As a student, I tutored a variety of math subjects (Algebra, Calculus, Statistics, etc.) to fellow university students. Collectively, I have over five years of experience tutoring math. In August 2010, I earned two bachelor degrees, a BS in Mathematics and a BA in English, from the University of North Texas. In addition to my tutoring experience, I recently began teaching math at Ivy Tech Community College in Bloomington, IN.
I enjoy tutoring, because I find that helping students learn, and perhaps come to appreciate something they find difficult, is a learning process for me as well. I love teaching all ages and skill levels. I adjust my teaching style to the individual - some people are visual learners or oral learners or hands-on learners. I teach by example and try to encourage my students to understand "why" rather than just "how."
I began college as an engineering major, so I have background in advanced mathematics and physics. I went on to change my major to psychology where I gained knowlege of social and behavioral sciences, as well as research technologies and statistical analysis. Since graduating college with a B.A. in psychology, I have worked as a psychology researcher, accounting assistant, and in 3 different roles for an international pharmaceutical company. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated in May, 2010 from Indiana University with a BS in Biology and a minors in Environmental Management and African American Diaspora Studies. Through my biology curriculum I took many math, chemistry, biology and physics classes. I have excelled especially in chemistry, biology, and algebra and I have experience tutoring in high school level chemistry and math. Also, through my liberal arts degree I gained significant experience writing papers and editing other people's writing.
Science has always been very fascinating to me and I love to share what I have learned in the sciences.
