A Little Bit About Me...

My belief is based upon the idea that all children are different and consequently, they learn differently. I have been taught how to approach those of ESL backgrounds, a multitude of handicaps, and learning disabilities, just to name a few. For instance, every once in a while, a child will take too long to copy notes off of the board or doesn't understand directions that well. For istances like this, I write down notes and tape them to their desks, provide additional coaching and prompts, or even modify assignments. I have found that teaching is what I love to do and learning about children through the perspective of my education has made me so much more successful in how I approach children as a class, but also at an individual level.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have taught music in public education for the last 15 years. I have been involved in church music ministry for over 25 years, and currently am the church pianist in Stockton, Ca. I love working with children of all ages. Math is my second love and I almost majored in math instead of music. Math was always easy for me in school. Although I don't enjoy writing, I am very strong in written English and enjoy proofreading papers.
I strive to include various learning styles when working with children. Some students learn best by listening or writing, while others need movement or tactile experiences to help in comprehension. I believe in keeping students engaged at all times, to minimize wasted time. Every child has potential.
