As a tutor, I believe it is my job to facilitate the individual thinking processes and strengths of each student. It is important for a teacher to be able to mold their instruction to fit different individuals. It is this student diversity that makes tutoring such a valuable practice at the secondary level. No two students learn in the same way or at the same speed. I value being able to focus on one student at time so that I can discover how to best facilitate the transfer of knowledge and help that student to 'learn how to learn' by applying individualized learning techniques. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching children and adults of all ages, although most of my experience has come from teaching college age kids. I believe that everyone learns in different ways and one aspect of teaching I enjoy the most is working with someone to find the method of learning that is best for them. In College, I pursued my interest in English language by majoring in Literature, with an emphasis upon etymology, linguistics, speech and rhetoric. My senior thesis on the poetic technique of Alexander Pope earned both an "Honors A" and that year's sole English Faculty Award.
