Elementary Special Education Teacher

My teaching style is student centered. I try to figure out what work best for each student and go from there. If a student has a learning stye that is very hands on then I will try to make sure a portion of my lesson is tactile. It is not always easy but I strive to differentiate to meet all of my students' learning needs..
I have been teaching students with many different special needs for the past 19 years. My experience ranges from students with severe developmental delays to students with emotional disabilities. I have been working with the education field for 13 years. I have primarily worked in special education which has given the unique experience o teaching or co-teaching all subject areas. I am currently the special education coordinator a charter school in Philadelphia. Prior to working in Philadelphia, I taught social studies, math, English and GED preparation for adults.
