I love two things in this world - teaching and fishing. As a teacher, I believe that my job is to inspire students to want to learn and to help students develop stronger strategies and skills to make their learning more effective. Each learner is different, and I pride myself on my ability to make learning relevant to each individual student by tailoring instruction to meet their strengths and weaknesses, and finding a way to make both the act of learning and the material learned interesting and compelling. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe all children can learn but they each need to learn in a way that fits them. I feel that I can provide each child with the necessary curriculum knowledge in a fun and engaging way. I believe that through discovery leaning each subject is made unique and interesting and children are more likely to walk away feeling engaged, proud of their work, and excited. I believe that each and every child can excel if they have a good educator behind them. I strive to make sure that each one of my students succeeds inside and outside of the classroom.
I have recently graduated from the University of Idaho with a degree in Elementary Education. I have had many years caring for children and have three years experience tutoring/teaching children. From these experiences I have been able to grow as a teacher and therefore help my students grow and learn more in depth concepts.

More About This Tutor...

In 2006 I began working for the American English Institute as a tutor to university students studying English as a Foreign Language. In 2007 I gained employment with the Eugene, OR school district as a Classified Substitute where I fulfilled a variety of positions; mostly working with IEP students or assisting in Learning Resource Centers. In 2008 I graduated from the University of Oregon with a BA in Chinese and a minor in Asian Studies. In July of 2009 I had the opportunity to travel to Indonesia as an ESL teacher through English First. I lived and worked in Indonesia for one year teaching English grammar, writing style, reading, speech, listening, and business culture to students ranging in age from 3 years old to business professionals.
