I am a one-on-one instructor. If chess rules are not known such as piece movement and lack of notation keeping, I will teach you that first. I will gauge your playing level after playing some games with you. From there you will learn tactics, openings, general positional strategy, endgame technique, and etiquette appropriate to your level.
I have taught children and adults chess since 2005. I've done lectures as well as private lessons. I am currently the 1st Board and Captain of the University of Pittsburgh Chess Team. I ran a chess club in Wyncote, Pennsylvania until I left and came to Pittsburgh. I have been playing chess since 1st grade, and I am quite passionate about the game. I also care for my students and improving their performance in tournament and casual play.

National Candidate Master Chess Lessons

I'm a National Candidate Master and I've been teaching children and adults for 5 years. I have taught and coached a national championship winning team and have won numerous state and national championships myself. I teach lessons at Rittenhouse Square and at the Abington Free Library. What a better way to teach your teen than by a teen?

I graduated high school in late October of 2012. I am not currently in college. I am working twords bettering my future. I enjoy helping others and I find it easy. I used to be tutored and I hated it because the tutors seemed to not care if I got it. I make sure the person or people I am tutoring understand and remember how to do what I am asked to teach them. In high school my teachers used to send me to other classes and tutor kids in the middle of class. I am extremely flexable and can help just about anyone I try to teach. I will not say every because no one is perfect and I'm not going to pretend I am.
