I worked as an English Coordinator in a private school in Mexico City for 16 years. During those years I had the opportunity to lead an average of 20 ESL teachers. I developed courses for training teachers in the use of New Technologies in Teaching. I worked as a freelance consultant for several schools in Mexico City, Israel and Panama. Due to personal reasons, I moved to Israel for 3 years where I worked as a Spanish teacher at the Instituto Cervantes in Tel Aviv and as an English teacher in public schools. I enjoy teaching adults as well as high school students. I do not have much training teaching below junior high; however, I am confident that I could successfully teach math or language. Although, I don't mind the traditional classroom setting, I am quite used to instructing on a one-to-one basis. Our GED programs are completely individualized for learners to move at their own pace, and I encourage this type of teaching style when manageable. Many of the students/adults that I have worked with have a learning disability of some sort, but I feel that I learn from each student just as much as they are learning from me. A Little Bit About Me...

When a question is asked, I am not going to simply just tell the student the answer. I would want them to think it out and try and figure it out for themselves. I would however guide them in the right direction and even ask them other questions they may know in order for them to figure out the intial problem. I feel that these types of interactions are a more effective way of learning. Also, writing things down helps tremedously because not only are you thinking it, but you're seeing it and reading it as well. I am a very easy person to get along with, and I am also very encouraging. I enjoy helping others whether it's in an academic environment or not.
