My comments on tutoring Life Science : I hold a Ph.D in a Life Science discipline.

I took a variety of Biology classes and Labs at WPI mostly focused on Cell Biology and Molecular Genetics. I recently finished my PH.D. where I studied control of viral gene expression. This work encompassed a variety of biological disciplines including virology, cell biology, molecular biology, biochemistry, and molecular genetics, all of which I am quite experienced in. I also have experience teaching in a seminar format as well as in small groups. As a senior graduate student I was responsible for leading discussions prior to invited speaker seminars.
I believe that stimulating conversation and allowing people to arrive at answers on their own and through experience is the best way to form lasting connections.

A year long internship, student teaching, and masters level education courses have prepared me to teach students and gave me much experience as well as opportunities to learn.
Working with elementary students of all ages and levels has made me believe that all children can learn if given the opportunity and the right instruction. A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching Style- That is an interesting question- since there are so many schools with so many different teaching methods I would like to see how the student was shown the particular method for "attack". It would also be helpful to compare that to the textbook directions; from there I will be able to develop a plan based on the topic and the individual student. I have had to recreate lessons for my son for years in order to develop a style that he understands. The student may have an idea for creatively learning this topic- I am always open to suggestions.
